I voted for Sestak. I vote for winners. Even though Hoeffel didn’t win, he’s still a winner in my eyes, a true progressive! Now we will see if Sestak has what it takes to beat that ahole Toomey.

Sigh, Yet ANOTHER Groupon wannabe
This is another “aggregator” of Groupons and Adility.
From TechCrunch:
The group buying craze is now officially in overdrive. There are so many group buying sites—Groupon, LivingSocial, BuyWithMe, SocialBuy—that it is hard to know where to go for the best deals. Enter the DailyD, a new site that just launched today which pulls together all the deals for a city in one site and sends out a daily email as well.
Digital Marketing Depts own Social Media!!
At least that’s what this survey tells us.
I’ve been in some pretty heated debates about this subject and tend agree with the above graphic, but my friends in PR would totally disagree, or at least they did.
Ultimately, we’ve all discovered that social isn’t something that just one department can cover.
Here how it breaks down in my experience:
- Interactive Marketing wants to control the technology and monitor social.
- PR wants to control the message of social.
- Traditional Marketing wants social to be a part of a larger campaign.
- Agency wants social to match their billboards and tv ads and look purdy.
- Legal wants us not to get sued by social.
So it leaves us with a large committee of professionals all working together to make a social strategy that works. Baby steps. Baby Steps! And this works … for now.
AWESOME Trekker Social iPad app concept
I have no idea if this thing works or not but it’s a pretty damn cool idea for us trekkers out there.
Recently there has been a lot of people out there railing on Facebook about how they are screwing it’s users and throwing privacy out the window. This guy makes a good case about how it’s not FB’s fault and we should all just relax.
I defend Facebook because it is the wrong target for our anger. It has done more to bring people together than any technology of the last five years, and the good it has brought far outweighs the bad. We made the decision to turn our personal information over to a private company, and for the most part Facebook made good use of it.
